Keynote And OpTier Help Internal IT And Web Ops Teams Collaborate On Application Performance
Keynote® Systems (NASDAQ: KEYN), the global leader in Internet and mobile cloud monitoring and OpTier, a leader in business transaction-driven application performance management and recently named a ‘leader’ in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Application Performance Monitoring*, today announced the release of their integrated solution that brings synthetic and real user transactions together for intelligent visibility into web application performance. The integration is available immediately to joint customers and prospects.
The Keynote-OpTier integration uniquely identifies Keynote synthetic transactions within OpTier’s Experience Manager and creates linkages between it and the MyKeynote® web operations management portal. This allows OpTier real user traffic data to be compared, analyzed and correlated with performance data collected by Keynote synthetic transactions. It also allows single-click navigation between the two portals for instant, contextual investigation of problems—enabling customers to proactively assure application service levels and avoid critical outages.
The joint solution gives enterprises a complete picture of the performance and availability of their business-critical cloud applications in real time and is made possible by integrating Keynote’s OpenAPM™ connectors and OpTier’s open BTM (business transaction management) platform.
The Keynote-OpTier partnership offers businesses the benefit of improving online customer satisfaction and user productivity by leveraging the strength of combined, end-to-end real and synthetic monitoring solutions. This means businesses can use synthetic data to determine the end user impact in critical production applications 24/7, and use the real traffic to monitor and manage the application traffic not exposed to Keynote’s synthetic monitoring, as well as establish baselines for how real users interact and behave with an online application.
Features of the Keynote-OpTier integration include:
•Ability to easily compare and contrast synthetic transactions with real user transactions;
•Ability for real user performance trends to suggest new synthetic transactions, or modifications to existing ones, for ongoing monitoring optimization;
•Ability to view OpTier application, transaction and infrastructure details with the corresponding measurement in MyKeynote® via a single click.
The Keynote contribution to the partnership is its synthetic end user transaction monitoring and alarms provided by its market-leading Keynote Transaction Perspective™, Application Perspective™ and Mobile Device Perspective™ services from more than 240 geographic locations outside the enterprise network, using the most popular browsers and mobile devices. OpTier’s BTM suite, which include its award-winning CoreFirst and Experience Manager products, tracks real user business transactions, end-to-end. This is unlike traditional application performance management solutions that focus on the performance of each infrastructure silo, and offers application owners and operations the consolidated view needed to pinpoint issues and proactively manage the performance of applications before users are affected.
“The Keynote and OpTier OpenAPM alliance provides customers what they really want: application performance monitoring solutions that integrate with one another, allowing IT organizations to get even more value from their tools of choice,” said Vik Chaudhary, vice president of product management and corporate development at Keynote. “The integration of real user and synthetic performance monitoring data demonstrates our combined commitment to meeting customer requirements for flexibility and breadth in their performance monitoring approaches.”
“The integration is for all companies with critical Web applications – especially if they are using or considering cloud services,” said Ronen Fischler executive vice president of business development at OpTier. “It provides unmatched cross-silo visibility to integrate the business process, end user, application, datacenter and cloud perspectives - supporting the complete application performance lifecycle and eliminating the integration hassles and finger pointing associated with lesser point tools or legacy monitoring frameworks.”
*OpTier has been positioned in the “leader” quadrant of Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Application Performance Monitoring published on September 19, 2011.
