Ron Bekkerman
Chief Data Officer
- Ron joined Carmel in October 2012 as Chief Data Officer
- Ron brings over 12 years of experience in Big Data and intelligent software applications
- At Carmel, Ron takes part in the investment process while focusing on data-driven technologies, performing technical due diligence, and consulting Carmel’s portfolio companies on Big Data related strategic initiatives
- Ron served as a Senior Research Scientist at LinkedIn, where he was responsible for data analytics that affect LinkedIn’s product and marketing strategy
- Prior to that, Ron worked in R&D positions at large high-tech companies, including HP and Motorola
- Ron received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and an M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Computer Science from the Technion Institute for Technology, Israel
- Ron has a strong academic record and has published over 20 research papers in Machine Learning and Data Mining (most of them in top-tier publications)
- Ron was a corresponding editor of a book titled “Scaling up Machine Learning” that was published by Cambridge University Press in 2012
